Photos from a trip to Sweden...

I took these photos in the late Spring at our country house in Skummeslovsstrand, Sweden. The beach is only a short walk from the house and it is one of the most beautiful places I've ever experienced. Because of it's latitude, the sun takes 3-4 hours to set. The experience that day was sublime and felt like being part of a living Impressionistic painting. Pia's family has lived and owned land in this area for over two centuries. The trees you see are in a forest named after her when she was a little girl. It's called "Pia's Wood" and it's the kind of forest where pixies, faeries, nymphs, sylphs and satyrs aren't a remote possibility. They seduce you with each step you take. It's absolutely lovely, dreamlike and golden. I can still smell the leaves, dew, dirt and moss.
